September 2016 – November 2016

  • The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) now supports Sahay Lab for Pilot and Feasibility Studies to improve intracellular gene delivery for treatment of CF.
  • Dr. Sahay has co-authored a review alongside Drs. Martin Stewart and Armon Sharei, Xiaoyun Ding, Profs. Robert Langer and Klavs Jensen (MIT) that appeared in Nature. Check it out: In vitro and ex vivo strategies for intracellular delivery
  • Mr. Siddharth Patel has won the American Association for Indian Pharmaceutical Sciences Award (AAiPS) and is presenting a poster at 2016 AAPS Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado, Congrats Sid!
  • Dr. Anna Brown won the third prize in the 2016 Annual Gene Therapy Symposium at OHSU, Congrats Anna!
  • Mr. Peter Kwak won the first prize in Poster Presentation at the CURE Program. Congrats Peter!

July 2016 – September 2016

  • Sahay Lab publishes its first research paper in Scientific Reports. Congrats to Dr. Anna Brown on her primary author publication on lysosomal storage disorder! Check it out: PEG-lipid micelles enable cholesterol efflux in Niemann-Pick Type C1 disease-based lysosomal storage disorder
  • A major biotech has reinvested in the Sahay Lab to interrogate intracellular delivery of messenger RNA
  • Sahay Lab presented poster at the Annual CRS Meeting in Seattle. Dr. Sahay also chaired a session on Oligonucleotide Delivery: New Applications and Opportunities
  • Prof. Sahay participated in the National Niemann Pick Foundation meeting in Danvers, MA
  • Sahay Lab presented posters at the Gordon Research Conference in Drug Carriers in Medicine and Biology at Waterville New Hampshire.
  • Mr. Siddharth Patel, a graduate student in the lab was selected to present a poster at the Gordon Research Seminar in Drug Carriers in Medicine and Biology at Waterville New Hampshire.
  • Ms. Abeer Eltanaway got a job in a start-up in Portland after her volunteer training and Mr. Fabian Weighardt has resumed his Masters training at Wuzburgh after a successful stint at the Sahay Lab. We wish them both all the very best!!!
  • Mr. Peter Kwak joins the lab as part of The Ted R. Lilley Continuing Umbrella of Research Education (CURE) Intern Program-research mentorship training program supported by the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and the OHSU Center for Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Dr. Ashwani Narayana has joined the lab a postdoctoral scholar at the Sahay Lab. Welcome Ashwani!

May 2016 – July 2016

  • Dr. Sahay was invited to present his work as part of Röntgenring Seminar Series on Latest Developments on Biomaterials by Univ of Wurzburgh, Germany. Dr. Sahay’s title of the talk was Intracellular drug/gene delivery, June 13 2016.
  • Dr. Sahay presented a poster entitled intracellular trafficking of nanoparticles for mRNA delivery at AACR meeting on Engineering and Physical Sciences in Oncology Chaired by Prof (s). Robert Langer, Rakesh Jain and Joan Brugge June 25-28th.

Opening of lab Sep 1, 2014

After the opening of the new Collaborative Life Science building in the beautiful waterfront location of Portland, OR. The Sahay Lab officially opens its doors in September. Link to CLSB opening.
